Family meal is one of the hidden rituals of the restaurant business, the time towards the end of the afternoon when the staff comes together to discuss the evening's service to come, learn the night's specials—and to eat. It's a time for everyone to relax together and hang out with coworkers before the crush of service.

For two nights this month, Eater Exclusives is pulling aside this curtain at North End Grill, the new Battery Park City hotness from legendary restaurateur Danny Meyer. For this special two-night engagement on back-to-back Mondays, Eater Exclusives will take over the restaurant's private dining room, where Chef Floyd Cardoz will serve up an epic, multi-part family meal for Eater readers. The feast will feature specialties the likes of which Cardoz has never served at North End Grill—or perhaps anywhere. There may be striped bass, goat, or even fried chicken, via a recipe Cardoz inherited from this mother.

There will also be wine, of course—large-format, which is to say, large bottle, style. "We're considering a bunch of different large-format selections," Cardoz says. "No holds barred."

Prior to the meal, diners will have a chance to meet Cardoz—the genius behind the late Tabla and a man possessed with a "deep understanding of flavor," according to Times' critic Pete Wells—and witness that day's staff meal in the North End Grill kitchen. From family meal with the team to Cardoz's epic family-style feast, the night will be one for the ages.

- Observation of staff lineup & meal, starting at 4:30pm*

- Four-course dinner including wine pairings, starting at 6:00pm

*Observation of the staff lineup & meal is optional.  Please arrive by 4:15pm if you would like to attend. 
The main dinner will start promptly at 6:00pm.
